TRAINING CONSULTANT FAQS
Advanced training services require training in two additional areas:
- Operation of the SmartDrive event recorder (recorder must be installed on truck);
- Fuel management.
The training fee paid to the Training Consultant will be $500 after the student upgrades
to a solo driver.
It will depend on how long it takes your student to become proficient in all the required areas to upgrade to solo driving. The average training period is about 4 weeks. As a Training Consultant, you have the discretion to extend training if you feel it’s needed.
There is no cost to you plus you will receive a discount on your physical damage, bobtail, and occupational accident insurance premiums.
As long as your student reports the damage to Claims, any physical damage to your tractor will be taken care of at no cost to you.
Where there are some basic qualifications, becoming a Training Consultant will primarily involve completing a simple qualification process, including submitting an application and completing an interview with your Terminal Manager.
No, the independent Contractor Training Consultant Program is not available for residents of CA, CT, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, PA, or WA
After your application is submitted, it will go to your terminal and safety managers for review. Our goal is to review within 24 hours, after which an interview will be scheduled with your terminal Manager.
If you are approved, the Owner Operator Department will email you a DocuSign IC Training Agreement. Once the signed agreement is received, we will update your status in our system as a training Consultant.
